Hildegard Marie Cech (1917 – 2016)
Peacefully, at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Courtland on Friday, October 28, 2016, Hildegard Marie (Horn) Cech, former resident of Hickory Hills, Tillsonburg, passed away at the age of 99 years. Beloved wife of the late Rudi Cech (2002). Hildegard is survived by her nephew Mathias Rudolph and his family of Germany and her special friend Sylvia Morbitzer of Tillsonburg. She will also be missed and remembered by her Hickory Hills neighbours Roy and Mary Overland, Harold and Shirley Waterhouse and Brian and Beverly Columbia. Predeceased by her parents Arno and Hedwig Horn, sister Ilse and brothers Helmut, Heinz and Gerhard. Hildegard was one of the few survivors of the Dresden bombing in World War II. She later immigrated to Canada in 1960. In keeping with Hildegard’s wishes, cremation has taken place and private family arrangements are entrusted to Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519)842-5221. Memorial donations the Straffordville Gospel Hall would be appreciated.
