Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, Janet Penner, of London passed away at the age of 66 years. Janet was the loving wife of James Ramsay. She was an incredible mother to Lori, Melissa, and Rebecca (Clark) and a cherished grandmother to Lydia. She will be sadly missed by her sister Sandra, and her 3 brothers Bill, Brad, and Barry. She was an Aunt to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Lucy (nee Schott) Carruthers, and her brother David Carruthers. Janet was an educator for 45 years and felt blessed to have met and worked with so many amazing people during her career. She started out teaching in a one room school house and worked her way up to working for the Ministry of Education as a Special Education Officer. Throughout her career she was the voice for children who could not speak for themselves and an inspiration to all.
Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Wednesday, November 09, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The memorial service for Janet will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Allan Wilson will be officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Glen Meyer Cemetery. Memorial donations in Janet’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Make-A-Wish Foundation by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home.
