Obituary for Joan Worth Ort (Cranston)

Joan Worth Ort (Cranston)
Ort, Mary Joan Worth
Having lived a spectacular life filled with love, kindness, generosity, adventure, compassion, many friendships and tremendous gratitude, Joan passed away peacefully on January, 8th, 2017 at the age of 91. Joan was married to Dr. Reginald Ort (2006) and they shared 50 wonderful years together. She is lovingly remembered by her children Chris (Sheila), Lisa (Aaron), and Rob. Joan will also be remembered by her grandchildren; Carley, Sarah, Andrea, Kyla, Jason, Andrew, Jeff and Doug. Joan/Mom/Nanny was loved by many and always gave the best hugs. “I love you, a bushel and a peck…” She did her best to keep in touch with her U of T Physical Education friends, neighbours, friends and bridge playing groups. She had a big smile waiting for all of her visitors and brought joy and laughter to many with her sharp, inquisitive mind. In addition to her family, watching and playing tennis, golf, travel and reading were her passions. A special thank you to all of the staff at Woodingford Lodge who looked after her and loved her over these past few years. A celebration of life will be held at the Carriage Hall, 25 Brock St. W., Tillsonburg, on Friday, January 13th from 7-10 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Joan’s name to The Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation, Woodingford Lodge Tillsonburg, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

I cried, I laughed and I loved
With no reservations!
I sang and danced for as long as I could!
I gave it all I had!
So I ask that you remember
Only the good times!
For life is too short to be sad!
Think of me as your guardian angel,
Until we meet again.
