Helen Marjorie Hedges (1922 – 2017)
Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, Helen Marjorie (Reid) Hedges, formerly of Straffordville, passed away at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the Late Bruce Hedges (2011). Loving and caring mother of Dixie Lamb and Barbara Hedges both of Tillsonburg. Proud and devoted grandmother to Tammie Lisabeth (Shawn), Trevor Lamb (Tara), Tyler Lamb (Rina), Joshua Oenema, Jason Hedges (Tracie), Shawn Hedges (Tammy), Erin Hedges (Peter) and great-grandmother of Taylor, Travis, Trent, Luke, Landon, Olivia, Faith, Rebka, Seth, Cooper, Lauryn and Morgan. Also survived by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sons Richard (2002) and Wayne (2009), brothers Ivan Reid (1961), Hugh Reid (1963) and sister-in-law Ada Reid (2015). Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Helen will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Amorin officiating. Interment to follow in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association, Cancer Society or First Baptist Church would be appreciated by the Hedges family.
