Living without him

Living without Brent as your husband, Dad, Papa, Uncle, Brother in law and friend is going to hurt. You will feel alone, out to sea with no shore in sight. You'll wonder why me, why him. Remember you have a brave mans blood in your veins, courage and bravery that made Brent who he was is the same stuff inside of you that can make you into a person he would admire and respect. Put your pain in a box, lock it down and don't let it take you over. We are people made up of boxes, some of loss, triumph, of hurt and hope and love. No one is stronger than a person who can harness his emotions, his past. Use it as fuel as ink to write the most important letter of your life. So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view and ask that they respect yours. Love your life as Brent loved his. Perfect your life and beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and in the service of people and family. Always give a word or a wave when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people but grovel to none. Wen you get up each morning give thanks for the food and the blessed joy of living. Brent had that attitude every day. If you see no reason for giving thanks the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no things. Abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your turn to die, don't be like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. Above all, keep the faith, the very faith that sustained Brent to his last breath on this plain and will keep him in eternity with God in the next.
