Brenda Tollenaar
Peacefully, on Monday, May 15, 2017, at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Courtland, Brenda Tollenaar passed away at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Tunis Tollenaar (1979). Dear loving mother of Lee Anne Teigrob (Helmut), Jon Tollenaar (Susan), Brenda Townsend (David) and Lori Long (Joe). Cherished grandmother to Kelly, Richard, Kristen, Andrew, Laura, Justin, Nicole, Kelsey, Devan and Brandon and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Jacqueline Vinke and her brother Jas Haak. Brenda had many years of community involvement in organizations such as the Order of the Eastern Star, Women’s Institute and Langton Home and School. She also volunteered faithfully at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and with the St. Andrew’s Church Choir. Golfing, playing bridge and gardening were her favourite hobbies. A private memorial service for Brenda will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the Tollenaar family. Brenda’s family is extremely grateful for the care and love she received from the staff at Caressant Care Courtland Nursing Home.
