Peacefully, at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Courtland on Saturday, October 28, 2017, Edith Eleanor (Coombes) Aspden passed away at the age of 99 years. Beloved wife of the Late Ross Aspden (1991). Loving and caring mother of John Aspden of Courtland and mother-in-law of Margaret Aspden of Langton. Proud grandmother of Jodi Prouse (Joel) of Tillsonburg and Jenny Botzang (Matthew Townsend) of Walsingham. Cherished great-grandmother of Maci, Mack, Connor, Mason and Grant. Dear sister of Charlotte Pitt of New Brunswick. Edith is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Alice (Kirby) Coombes, her infant son Andrew Aspden and 3 brothers Kirby, David and Robert Coombes. In keeping with Edith’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for Edith will be held at Avondale United Church, 60 Harvey Street, Tillsonburg on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Taylor officiating. Reception to be held in the church hall immediately following the service. Private family inurnment in the Cultus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital or Avondale United Church may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519)842-5221 who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
