JAMES “JIM” MATTHEWS (1964 – 2017)
James “Jim” Earl Matthews, of Brantford passed away at the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the age of 53 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Vicki. Proud and loving father of Shawn, James, Nikita, Collin, Valentina and Natisha. Cherished grandpa of Dyelin, Makayla, Bryce, Brooklynn, Aaleah and Jordyn. Dear brother of Sherry, Annette (George), Christine (Wayne), Carol (Steve) and Joanne (Kevin). Jim is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Larry “Blue” and Charlotte (Schott) Matthews, an infant brother Kenneth and step brother John. Jim was a friend to many. He had a protective father figure quality in his character that he showed to many young people that were involved in his life. He will be truly missed and always remembered. A public graveside service will be held at King Lake Cemetery on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join the procession to King Lake Cemetery. The procession will be leaving Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519)842-5221 at approximately 1:15 p.m. Memorial donations to Sick Kids Hospital may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
