Obituary for Robert Milton McKenney

Robert Milton McKenney
1933 - 2018

It is with profound sadness we say goodbye to our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Robert McKenney “Bob” in his 85th year. The only child of Earl and Agnes McKenney. He was met in heaven by his parents and in-laws Norman and Sadie Helsdon, deceased daughters Nancy Leich (1954) and Karen Howes (2011). Bob was dearly loved by his family and shared many wonderful memories throughout the years. Beloved husband and best friend of Norma (Helsdon) for 64 years. Proud and loving father to all his children, Mark and his partner Cara Parker, Anne and son-in-law Richard Howes. Also survived by his grandchildren Jenna (Dan), Candace and Matthew Howes, Cody and Amy Parker and a great grandson Eric. Bob always enjoyed the visits with his canine friend Cooper. We are so greatful for the years we have had together. Bob was a resident of Ostrander for over 70 years. He lived on the family farm until moving to Tillsonburg in 2002. He enjoyed his routine of coffee with the boys, drives in the country with his black truck, visits with friends and family and the daily newspaper or a good book to read. Bob was an active member of the Springford Baptist Church for many years. He was the brightness in our day and the calm in our storms. He will be forever missed, so from a favorite book, we find comfort in it’s many words, especially Psalm 23. In keeping with Bob’s wishes a private family service will be held to fondly remember and say our final goodbyes. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bob are asked to consider The Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital or The Springford Baptist Church by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home (519-842-5221) whom have been entrusted with the arrangements for Bob and would be appreciated by the McKenney family. A special thank you is extended to the staff of The Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care and to Pastor Lola for her love and support.
Happy Times when we were together hold memories that will last forever.
We will always miss you.
