MICHAEL FABI (1936 – 2018)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Fabi at VON Sakura House in Woodstock on Sunday, March 4, 2018 after a courageous battle with illness at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of 44 years to the late Erna (Bertleff) Fabi (2009). Proud and loving father of Margaret Fabi of Toronto, Michael Fabi and his wife Pam of Delhi and Robert Fabi and his wife Abby of Tillsonburg. Cherished Opa of Matthew, Aaron, Emma and Lauren. Dear brother-in-law of Linda Fabi of Cambridge, Johanna Madeley and her husband Michael of Woodbridge, Katie Besler and her husband Don of Toronto and Eva Lienerth of Mississauga. Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Katherina (Mueller) Fabi, brother John Fabi, sister Katherina Ellenberger and brothers-in-law Henry Ellenberger and Michael Lienerth. After moving to Canada from Romania, Michael spent many years farming in the Langton area before retiring in Tillsonburg. Michael was a devoted and faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Tillsonburg and the German Canadian Club in Aylmer. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519) 842-5221 on Tuesday March 6, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Michael will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Young Street, Tillsonburg on Wednesday March 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Schallhorn officiating. Interment to follow at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund or VON Sakura House (Woodstock) would be appreciated by the Fabi family.
