Suddenly, at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 2, 2011 George David Oliver of Tillsonburg age 69years. Loving husband of 42 years to his beloved wife Christine Oliver (nee: Jenner). Cherished and special father to Tara Oliver and her friend Scott Owen of London. Dear brother of Jim (Dannah) Oliver of Lions Head; Lois (Lee) Kirkby of Ancaster. George is survived by his father-in-law Alfred Jenner of Chatham; sister-in-law Myla (Edward) Jack of Chatham; Linda (Remi) Bushey of Chatham, as well as many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents Robert and Jean Oliver; his mother-in-law Pauline Jenner, and brother-in-law Austin Jenner. The family will receive friends at Ostrander’s Funeral Home 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service for George will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. Rev. Father Bill Ward officiating. Interment Chesterfield Cemetery. At the family’s request memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Diabetic Association, or to the Tillsonburg Rotary Club. George was the former manager of Tillsonburg Canada Trust; past President of Tillsonburg Rotary Club where he continued to be a very active member. He was an active curler, and was actively involved with Tillsonburg Figure Skating Club. He had a love of finishing wood furniture, and was former volunteer to special needs students at Annandale High School.
