ALICE JEAN HOWE (ADLINGTON)
April 28, 1923 – January 6, 2021
Alice Jean Howe, age 97 of Tillsonburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family January 6, 2021. To know Alice, was to love her. She was born April 28, 1923 to the late George and Edith Adlington of Straffordville. Alice is predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, George Howe (2012) and her cherished grandson Jason Howe (2019). Alice and George built a wonderful life together with a strong focus on faith and family. Alice was a proud mother to her children Brian & his wife Pat, and Beth & her husband Ewart McLaughlin. Alice was a loving Nan to Jason & Kim Howe and their children Spencer and Madison; Jamie & Katherine Howe and their daughter Ella; Katie & Franco Barbon and their children Benjamin, Joshua & Michael; Kari & Ed Lamers and their children Jonathan & David; Kristine & Curtis Hayes and their children Calvin George and Judith; Kim & Dale McCutchen and their children Claire, Grace, Travis & Sarah Alice; Kelly & Matthew Heleniak and their children Olivia, Richard, Elizabeth and Vincent; Kassandra & Shane Way and their children Josephine, Amelia, Wyatt & Madelyn Jean. Alice loved to share her passion for hand crafts and baking. She was meticulous about her work, no matter the task at hand. It was common to find her with a knitting project on the go, whether it be for those she loved or those in need. No one could captivate children with a story book quite like she could. Alice is also predeceased by her siblings Annie Schneider, Bessie Dair, Rolph Adlington, Ross Adlington and Bruce Adlington. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Betty Adlington. She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews as well as her friends at First Baptist Church. A Memorial Service to celebrate Alice’s remarkable life will be held at a later date.
