Obituary for Alma Hazel Anderson
ALMA HAZEL (JONES) ANDERSON
December 12, 1924 – February 1, 2023
With love and grateful hearts, the family of Alma Anderson announce her peaceful passing on February 1st at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, in her 99th year.
Born December 12, 1924 in McCord, Saskatchewan she was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Florence (Scott) Jones, and siblings Russell (Florence), Norma and Wilda.
She attended Secretarial College in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and worked part-time as a piano teacher.
When the family home in McCord burned down, they made the decision to move to Springford, Ontario and settled on a farm where they grew corn, raised cattle, pigs and chickens. They were known for their raspberries which they sold at the farm and to local markets.
Alma worked as a secretary at Tillsonburg’s Metal Fabricators, later becoming a bookkeeper at Stauffer Motors and retired from Delhi Ford.
She is survived by husband Lloyd Anderson of Tillsonburg, daughter Jane (Joe DaRocha) of Dunnville and grandchildren Marina and Simon.
Predeceased by her cherished son Jeff Anderson of Toronto in 2020.
Alma had a strong and enduring faith in God and family. She was incredibly patient and kind to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her loving family, friends, and her church community at Goshen Baptist Church.
Cremation has taken place.
Family and friends are invited to join us on Saturday, February 25th for any portion of the following:
10:00 am Visitation followed by Funeral at 11:00 am at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg, ON

12:00 pm Luncheon at Courtland Community Centre followed by a Celebration of Life for Jeff Anderson at 1:15 pm.
Memorial donations to Goshen Baptist Church would be appreciated by the Anderson family.
