Born February 12, 1945 in Azores, Sao Miguel, Portugal to Celestino and Alice Moreira. Immigrated to Canada in 1963. Married to the love of his life, Lucy on April 19, 1969. Altino was a very hard working man in the construction industry which allowed him to provide for his family. A very direct, unconditional loving father to Altino Soares Jr. (Teresa Cain); Messias Soares (Trish Ferrera); Peter Soares (Julie Thiessen). Devoted grandfather to Joshua, Brendan, Sophia, Stella, Lucas, Kallee, Rya, Ursula, Jack and Thomas. Great grandfather to Lincoln. Brother to Zelia (Liberal) Sousa; Alice (Wally) Blanchard; Paula (Dave) Ridell and Suzy (Steve) Moreira. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother and father Celestino and Alice Moreira. Altino was a member of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Tillsonburg. He loved the outdoors and was very meticulous with his yard and his vehicles. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Tillsonburg Cemetery.
