Obituary

ANNA HIEBERT
1961 – 2020

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Anna Hiebert. Anna passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the Woodstock General Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the age of 59 years. Anna’s battle with cancer showed how strong and determined she was. Anna was born on April 30, 1961 in Mexico to her late father Gerhard (George) Hiebert and her late mother Sara Hiebert (nee Wall). She has been promoted to Glory and has been reunited with her cherished daughter Linda (2000). She will be missed by her long time boyfriend Mark. Anna was a loving sibling to her sister Sara (the late Bill), sister Helen (Jake), brother John (Tina), brother George, sister Nancy (Lorenzo), sister Mary and brother Henry (Yolanda).
Predeceased by her brother Abe Hiebert.
Anna will be forever loved by her dearest friend Lynda Pankratz and her family.

We are sorry to report that due to the ongoing restrictions resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus there can be no community visitations or public funeral.
A private family funeral will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Friends and relatives are welcome to be a part of the funeral service via YouTube Live. Private family interment will be held at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the Hiebert family and can be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with arrangements. Anna was loved by her Church family here at North Broadway Baptist Church and will be missed. She was always so pleasant and cheerful even in the face of her own sickness. What a terrific example of a person with true faith in God. (Pastor Mark Barrett of NBBC)

Anna was a very special person to all of us. She was taken away from us way too soon, We really enjoyed meeting up with her and Mark to go shopping in the States or meeting up for chinese food and lots of laughs. Great memories that we'll cherish.
Rest in Peace Anna, we'll always love you and miss you xoxo

I would like to offer my heartfelt sympathy to Mark and Anna's family. Anna was my best friend and I was always so thankful for our friendship. Anna and I would meet up for lunch and although we had seen each other the month before, we would talk to each other as if no time had passed from the last time we had seen each other. She always greeted me with a nice smile and a big hug. We shared so many stories with each other and some that made us cry but we also had lots of stories to tell each other that made us laugh. We both would laugh so hard that we had tears fall down our face. Anna was a joy to be around and a friend that was always there for me. We would always tell each other that we enjoyed our conversations whether it was on the phone or in person because we seemed to bring out the positive and humorous side of each other's personality. When Anna became ill again, I told her that she's a strong woman and a lot of people love her and will be praying for her to get well again. Anna was determined that she was going to do her best to beat this disease. Unfortunately even though we all prayed and hoped that Anna would beat this disease and be well again, it wasn't meant to be. I felt like this was a bad dream and that Anna was fine but reality set in and I had to accept that Anna was now with the Lord. Anna was a kind and beautiful woman who is loved by so many people. I will always treasure the times that Anna and I spent together and I will always remember her. May you rest in peace Anna, my dear friend.
"Anna, you were a gift from God above, and through your life I've seen his love".

Anna was a wonderful kind person . We both had cancer at the same time back in the time frame of 2015 and we spent quite a bit of time together. She was an inspiration to all and will be sorely missed. But,oh my, she is at home now with Jesus and no more suffering. All glory to God. Sending my prayers to all the family and may God bless each of you.. Katen Hodges
