Obituary

ARTHUR WILLIAM PARTLO
DECEMBER 19, 1937 – JUNE 14, 2020
It is with heavy hearts the family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved husband, father, papa and pops, Arthur William Partlo on Sunday, June 14, 2020. Art was the loving husband of 62 years to his wife and best friend Marion Partlo (Hughes). Survived, and sadly missed, by his daughter Heather (Greg) Hayward, and son Max (Karen) Partlo. Lovingly adored Papa to grandchildren Jessica (Adam) Swance, Kerilyn (Jordan) Bruckler, Taylor Partlo and step grandsons Jared and Sean Miller. Cherished Pops to his great grandchildren Bradley and Adelaide Swance as well as Kashious and Cohen Bruckler. Art is also survived by his sister Barb Gall, his brother Dave (Sharon) Partlo and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Max and Helen Partlo, brother and sister in law Max and Deb Partlo, sister and brother in law Sharon and Bob Coulter, brother in law Dave Gall and nephew Jim Hart. Art was a very proud family man. Art lived his whole life in Tillsonburg, Ontario. He was very active in baseball and hockey being inducted into Tillsonburg’s Sports Hall of Fame for his time with A&J Apollos Hockey Club. He worked for Johnson’s Auto Electric, then opened Partlo’s Sports Store before working for LCBO and eventually managing the store until his retirement in 1995. Aside from his family, his sports and his work, Art loved his time with his friends. The Tillsonburg Oldtimers Hockey Club formed many of these great friends and great memories as well as his cards and golf crew who created good times too numerous to mention. In the end, it was cancer that took his life in two weeks from diagnosis. Art was at home wearing his beloved New York Yankees attire, surrounded by his family and listening to his Elvis Presley music upon his passing. His family formed a processional line as Art was transferred from his home to hearse while draped in a New York Yankee flag and Elvis singing My Way. The family would like to pay special recognition to Dr Roth and the Tillsonburg Medical Center as well as palliative home care nurse, Suzanne Christo. At Art’s request, cremation has taken place and no formal service will occur at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Tillsonburg Cemetery and St Paul’s United Church would be appreciated by the Partlo family and may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with Art’s arrangements.
Friends and relatives are invited to send tributes in memory of Art to www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com.
