BARRY GENE CURTIS
1953-2023
After a brief and difficult journey with cancer, Barry Gene Curtis of Tillsonburg passed away at his residence, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the age of 69 years. Kind and gentle husband and best friend to Pat for 25 years. Loving father to Krista (Andy) White, Dana (Andrew) Wallis, and loving Bonus Dad to CJ (Noella) Sulston, Jo Vallee (Doug Douma). Special Gramps to Hunter, Ben, Bailey, Austen, Haydyn, Pyper, Elly, Dani, Freya, Fynn, Bertie, Tye, Madi and Claire. Brother to Steve (Bre) Curtis, uncle to Chris (Kim) Curtis and their son Ash, and brother-in-law to Charmaine Curtis. Barry was predeceased by his grandson Ledy Sulston, his parents Edwin and Clara, and his brother Bill. Barry was a family man, would do anything for anyone, and was loved by so many. He was “Gramps” to all the grandchildren, and even to many adults that loved him. Making the kids laugh, playing games, pranking Grammy, and goofing around was his favourite past time, next to reading on the porch or watching his favourite shows with Grammy. Barry enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing pool with his buddies, and was a member of the Cowboys baseball team for over 20 years. He was a handy man with a special talent for wood-working, and loved to build projects for family. Gramps was the most easy-going, kind, and thoughtful soul, who loved to laugh and was truly the heart of the family and he will be so sadly missed. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at Delmer Cemetery. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Barry, on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Carriage Hall, 25 Brock St., Tillsonburg from 1:00 until 4:00 pm, with a ceremony for Barry at 2:00 pm.
