Bela “Bill” Toth

With heavy hearts and sadness, the family announces that Bela “Bill” Toth passed away at the age of 83 years, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Kathy, his son William “Bill” Toth Jr., his daughter Monica Toth and her husband Cary Berger. Loving Papa to granddaughter Hannah Lidia Berger. Also survived by his sister Margaret Szotak and her family, sister-in-law Maria Toth and her family and many nieces and nephews both in Canada and Hungary. Predeceased by his parents Mike Toth (1990) and Maria Kiss (1992) as well as in-laws Lidia Juhasz and Frank Nagy, brother Mike Toth Jr. (2001), nephew Ted Szotak (2019) and 3 brothers-in-law in Hungary, and 1 sister-in-law in Hungary. In 1957, at the age of 19, Bill came to Canada, with very little money, to start a new life where there was freedom. Bill always appreciated this opportunity. He worked extremely hard and wasn’t afraid of any challenges. Bill always had a great outlook on life and never gave up on anything. He became a Tool and Die maker. He was very involved in the Hungarian Community and his church, the Hungarian Halls in the Tillsonburg area and was a Secretary Treasurer for one of the Halls and an Inspector for the other Hall. Bill was a long time member of St. George’s Greek Catholic Church, Courtland. He loved his family, friends, neighbours and Life itself. Bill enjoyed his hobbies of Gardening, Flea markets, and Auction Sales. He loved music and was able to play different instruments. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Charity of your choice and may be done by contacting Ostrander's Funeral Home (519) 842-5221 who have been entrusted with the arrangements. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held with internment following at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Due to covid restrictions, his funeral will be private.
