Obituary for Betty Dorene Adlington
BETTY ADLINGTON
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Betty Adlington, on Sunday, July 16th, at the age of 99 years. She is joyfully reunited with Ross, her husband of 69 years, and her beloved mother, Zuella, and father, Elston who have preceded her in passing.
She was the cherished mother of Brenda (John) Armstrong, Glenda (Dale) Smith, Tim (Jeanette) Adlington, Jon (Peggy) Adlington, Debbie (Geoff) Allen, Shelley (Scott) Adlington, and Patti Adlington. Betty was a loving grandmother to Scott (Trish), Candy (John), Jonathan, Ryan (Sarah), Justin, Kyle (Ashleen), Krista (Evan), Kara (Al), Jon, Stephen, Josh (Taryn), Steven (Robin), Richard (Vanessa), Adam (Jane), Cassandra (Kelsey), JR, and many great-grandchildren.
Betty was a woman of many talents. She dedicated herself to various charitable organizations over the years and served as the pianist at Springford Baptist Church until the age of 91. Among her many hobbies, she delighted in betting on horses and playing cards with her family. She also had a deep love for babies ( hence seven children) and animals, particularly horses and dogs. Her many friends will always remember her for her world-famous apple pies.
Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at Ostrander's Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg (519-842-5221), on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and on Monday, July 24th, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service for Betty will be held in Ostrander's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 24th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the Springford Cemetery immediately after the service. Rev. Lola Mather-Dyer officiating. Donations to the charity of your choice or to the Springford Baptist Church would be appreciated.
