Obituary for Betty Lorraine Matthews (Heath)

Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with illness at her home in Delhi surrounded by her family on Monday, July 24, 2023, Betty Lorraine (Heath) Matthews passed away at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife and best friend of the Late Donald “Don” Matthews (2018). Proud and loving mother of Heather Matthews of Delhi, Darcy Matthews (Tracy) of Otterville and Darrin Matthews (Nicole) of Aylmer. Cherished grandma of Brennan, Jayden, Keanna, Dakota, Tyler and Carter. Dear sister of Eva Burnett of Courtland, Shirley Wilson (Bruce) of Burgessville, Doreen Sanders (Bob) of Midland and sister-in-law of Jean Heath of Delhi. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Edna (Robbins) Heath, her son Drew Matthews, brother Bob Heath and brother-in-law Dick Burnett. Betty was the former proprietor of the St. Williams Bakery in St. Williams as well as the Aunt Bet’s Restaurant in Port Dover. Betty was also employed by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Betty’s greatest joy was her family and time spent with them. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The Memorial Service for Betty will follow at 1:00 pm in Ostrander’s Chapel with Pastor Paul Robinson officiating. Inurnment will be held at Cultus Cemetery. Memorial donations to VON- Sakura House would be appreciated by the Matthews family.
