Obituary for Debra Vivian Acorn (Young)
DEBRA VIVIAN ACORN
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, Debra Vivian Acorn, of Tillsonburg, formerly of Langton, at VON, Sakura House, Woodstock on Thursday, May 27th, 2020 in her 65th year. Debra will be sadly missed by her daughters, Melissa (Rick) Wood, and Sandy (Marcel) Vandendriessche. “Mamma” to Aubrey, and Grant Wood; and Jocelyn, Luc, Joel, and Ellie Vandendriessche. She was a loving daughter to Marie Young. Debra will be remembered by her brothers, Dale Young, Darryl Young, Dean Young (Christina Stafford), Mark (Tammy) Young, Mike Young, and Marvin Young. Debra was an Aunt to several nieces and nephews. Debra was predeceased by her father Ronald (2012), and her brother Dennis (1983). She was passionate about cooking. She loved preparing meals and loved family dinners, along with celebrating everyone’s birthdays. Debra was also known to dabble in gardening. The family would like to thank the physicians’ and nurses of Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, especially to Dr. Hyatt, for the continual care over the past year. Thank-you to the Oxford Care Partners, with special thanks to Tina and Suzanne (Nurses) and Rosabelle (PSW) for providing continued care and support to Debra and her family during her illness. Thank-you to the medical professionals at VON-Sakura House, for ensuring her final days were comfortable and peaceful.
Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell Street Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Sunday, May 30th, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, public visitation will be LIMITED to ONLY guests that sign up for a specific time to attend. Time slots will be made available on our website or by calling 519-842-5221. Guests are asked to not attend if they are ill, have been in contact with anyone that is ill or have travelled. Guests are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing rules. Guests are encouraged to only attend when their time slot begins. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Langton. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations to VON-Sakura House, Woodstock would be appreciated.
