HANZEL, Douglas Joseph
Just weeks following a lovely 90th birthday celebration, Doug Hanzel passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by love and his immediate family on July 26, 2023.
Devoted husband of 60 years to wife Jackie (née O’Connor, predeceased). Loving and supportive father to Karen Wilcox and husband Scott, Sandra Ware and husband David, Kelly Vieira and husband Chester, and Scott Hanzel and wife Christine.
Proud Grandpa to Angela Vardy, Kelly Vardy, Joshua Ware and wife Kasia, Jacob Ware, Brittney Vieira, Michael Vieira, Dylan Vieira, Brayden Hanzel, and Kale Hanzel. Great Grandpa to Noah, Reese, Madison, Jaxon, Sebastian, Sawyer, Liam, and Kaia.
Brother to Edward and wife Shirley (predeceased), William (predeceased), Donald and wife Lorna (both predeceased), Joseph and wife Isabelle (both predeceased), Cliff and wife Jill (both predeceased). Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rose Hanzel.
Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at a later date in Capreol, Ontario.
