Obituary for Edward "Ed" Bertrand
EDWARD “ED” BERTRAND
AUGUST 31, 1960 – JULY 2, 2020
Edward “Ed” George Joseph Bertrand passed peacefully into Jesus’ arms on the morning of July 2nd in his home, after a difficult few years of declining health. Lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 35 years Janice Bertrand (nee Tait), Jennifer (Rhys) Cooper, Adam (Marissa) Bertrand and Victoria Bertrand. Survived by his sisters Diane (Paul) Dion and Donna Bertrand, his mother-in-law Joanne Tait, his brothers-in-law James (Kim) Tait and Don Hines as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Jeanne Bertrand, his father-in-law Jim Tait, his brothers Ronald and Richard Bertrand and sister-in-law Judy Hines.
Ed was a devoted husband and father. His family was his entire life and he would always do whatever he could to make you smile. He spent many years on the road as a truck driver and many weekends working on his ’67 Camaro and other cherished vehicles. He is now at peace and his family knows he is looking down in love. Ed is set free from his earthly pains and praising the Lord his saviour Jesus. He will always be loved and missed beyond measure. The family would like to thank Dr. Ahrens for the care and compassion he provided to Ed over the last few years.
Due to COVID – 19 restrictions, the service will be private and is limited to the number of attendees as required to maintain physical distancing. Memorial donations to The Mission Church, Frogmore may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted by the Bertrand family.
