Obituary for Elsie Ella Habermebl

Elsie Ella Habermebl
1940-2023

Peacefully at the Niagara Health System, St Catharines Site, surrounded by her loving daughter Catherine Habermebl and son-in-law Fergal McDonough and grandson Declan McDonough, Elsie Ella Habermebl passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the age of 83. She is also survived by her granddaughter Brandy Lynn Wilson and son-in-law Larry Wilson. She loved her family deeply especially her grandchildren Brandy Lynn and Declan.
Elsie spent most her life in Tillsonburg, Ontario but moved to St. Catharines Ontario in 2019 to be closer to family. She enjoyed her time at Linhaven Home, and although the pandemic limited her social gatherings, she always looked forward to a game of bingo, listening to music, going to the salon or attending church services. Living in St. Catharines also gave her valuable time with her family over these past four years. Elsie always felt a deep personal connection for those who were suffering and supported many causes to help others. Elsie was also a devout Catholic and her faith helped guide her throughout her life and especially in her final hours.
Elsie will soon be reunited with her late husband, Ronald Habermebl, daughter Linda Wilson and parents Rose and Lawrence Schustalle, mother-in-law Ester Vepy, and sister-in-law Rose Marie Cupples.
A special thank you to the staff at Linhaven Home, especially those on Merritt East unit, for their compassion and care over the past four years. Also thank you to the staff in the Emergency Department at the St. Catharines Hospital, who deeply and compassionately cared for Elsie in her final hours. Family and friends will be received for visitation at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg ON N4G 3T6 (519) 842-5221 on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial for Elsie will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg, on Tuesday April 18, 2023 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Tillsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or a charity of choice. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com
