GYSBERT “GIL” AND EUNICE RAUW
Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 24, 2022, Gysbert “Gil” Rauw passed away at the age of 81 years.
Peacefully, at the St. Thomas Elgin Hospital on Sunday, May 8, 2022, Eunice Annie (Cowell) Rauw passed away at the age of 86 years.
Gil and Eunice were beloved spouses and best friends for 58 years. They were proud and loving parents of Evelyn Silva and her husband Joe of Strathroy and Peter Rauw of Tillsonburg. Together they were cherished grandparents of Brandon, Tyler (Lauren), Dakota and Curtis. Both Gil and Eunice were much loved by many nieces and nephews.
Gil was the Dear brother of Maria “Ria”Jansen and Bertha VandeGoor (Jordan) both of Norwich. Predeceased by his parents William and Everdina (Ryksen) Rauw and his brother-in-law John Jansen. A much loved quiet Rock of Support to his family. Gil was a truck driver for 32 years and a prominent member of First Baptist Church in Tillsonburg.
Eunice was predeceased by her parents John & Hilda Cowell, and by her siblings Frank, June (Orton), John, Audrey (Schuyler), and Joyce (Kaminski). Always ready to play a game or go for a walk, she was a constant source of fun and entertainment to her family. Eunice enjoyed her years at Fernlea greenhouses adding to her love of flowers, and was a prominent member of First Baptist Church in Tillsonburg.
A private funeral for family will be held at First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg on Friday May 13, 2022 at 12:00 noon. The funeral for Gil and Eunice will be streamed on the First Baptist Church website with Pastor Steve Amorin officiating. A private family interment will be held at the Springford Cemetery following the funeral.
