FERN ISABELLE GOWMAN
JUNE 3, 1926 – May 6, 2023
Peacefully, with family by her side at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 6, 2023, Fern Isabelle (Brittian) Gowman passed away at the age of 96 years. Beloved wife of the Late Harry Gowman (2018). Proud and loving mother of Barbara Glass of Vanessa, Ross Gowman (Tracy) of Nova Scotia, Kurt Gowman (Donna) of Burlington, Lynn Gysbers (Martin) of Brockville and Chris Gowman (Barbara) of Tillsonburg. Cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Hope (Turnbull) Brittian, son Russell Gowman, daughter Julie Gowman, son-in-law Doug Glass, sisters Marion Milligan, Margaret Hankinson, Clare McGraw, Helen Whitcomb, Julia Jull and brother Warren Brittian.
In keeping with Fern’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at the Tillsonburg Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy or the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the Gowman family.
