Obituary for Frederick "Fred" Alonzo Sivyer

Peacefully, with family by his side, Frederick “Fred” Alonzo Sivyer passed away at Chartwell Long Term Care, Aylmer on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the age of 91 years. He is now reunited with the love of his life and best friend, the late Ruth “Eileen” Sivyer (nee Bates) (2002). Proud father of Janet Fairall and her late husband Dennis of Windsor, Dave Sivyer and his wife Sue of Woodstock, Kelvin “Kelly” Sivyer and his wife Linda of Tillsonburg, Beth O’Grady and her husband Steve of St. Marys, and George and his wife Pat of Tillsonburg. Grandpa of Erin Thibert and Jeremy Fairall, Brad and Jessica Sivyer, Erik Sivyer and Kristin Wright, David Tost and Shawn and Krystal Sivyer. Great grandpa to 11 great grandchildren with 2 babies on the way. Fred will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Oral (nee Wingrove) Sivyer, his siblings Raymond Sivyer, Ivan Sivyer, Ross Sivyer, Teddy Sivyer, Pansy Vitas and Richard Sivyer. Our deepest gratitude to the PSWs of Care Partners who assisted Fred within his home and to the nurses and staff of Chartwell Nursing Home (Aylmer) for the attentive and empathetic care they gave. The family will receive guests at Ostrander’s Funeral Home 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg (519) 842-5221 on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Guests attending the visitation are asked to sign up online at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com or by calling the funeral home for a visitation time slot. All guests must wear a face mask and maintain social distancing. The Funeral Service for Fred will be private and will be held at Ostrander’s Funeral Home in Tillsonburg on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021. Doris Van Den Eeckhout will be officiating. Interment will take place in Eden Cemetery. At the family’s request, memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
