Peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Woodstock Hospital on Friday, February 10, 2023, Gloria Louise (Hanson) Rutledge, passed away at the age of 90 years. Loving companion for over 20 years to Vern Smith of Woodstock. Loving mother of Sandra Rutledge of Woodstock, Karen Rutledge of Tillsonburg, Tammy Rutledge-Mayer (Dan) of Langton and Vern’s son, Colin Smith of B.C. Cherished grandmother of Sean Knight (Rebecca), Derek Knight (special friend Ruth), Shannon Bridgeman, Ricky Bridgeman (Christina), Mason and Vanessa Mayer and great-grandchildren Jack, Charlotte, William, Haley and Zoe. Dear sister of Dennis Hanson (Lois Irwin) and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband George (1995), parents Harry and Ann (Strandlund) Hanson and brothers Arnold Hanson and Allan Hanson (Midge). Gloria was avid gardener and also enjoyed crafts, the outdoors and photography. But her greatest passion was her family. In keeping with Gloria’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
