Born in Tillsonbrg on May 26, 1932 to his parents George and Gladys (nee Riach), where he lived his entire life. There he met the love of his life Jean (nee Holman) who he married in 1952. Gordon and Jean lovingly raised their two daughters Cheryl (Leigh) (1953), and Leanne, (1956). Employed as a letter carrier by the Tillsonburg Post Office, he loved meeting people. Gordon had a passion for golf and playing card games. Later in life Gordon became a proud grandfather to his only grandchild Jared Adams. Gordon Frederick Fentie passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg, at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean (2016), his parents George and Gladys; his loving sisters Betty Evans and Merle Corner, who patiently taught him to dance; and his many In-Laws. He was a loving brother-in-law to Eva Holman, Ruth Harvey, Bob Prouse, Lisette Holman and an Uncle to many nieces and nephews. A huge appreciation to the Maple Manor Staff who provided daily loving care to Gordon, and lots of chocolate. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell Street Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Wednesday, September 02, 2020 for a Private Funeral Service for Gordon. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the private funeral service will be LIMITED to ONLY guests that have been invited. Guests are asked to not attend if they are ill, have been around anyone that is ill or have travelled. Guests are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing rules. Guests are encouraged to only attend when their time slot begins. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations to the Avondale United Church, Tillsonburg, or the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with Gordon’s arrangements.
