THOMAS HAROLD KIRKTOWN
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our much loved, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, Thomas “Harold” Kirktown, of Tillsonburg, formerly of Norwich, on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the age of 83 years. Harold was surrounded by his loving family as he was called Home to be with his Lord. Son of the late William and Ruby Kirktown (nee Givens). Harold is survived by his cherished loving wife Donna of 61 years. Harold is the very proud father of his two children, Paul (Donna) Kirktown, and Janice (Jimmy) Corbeil. He was a very proud grandfather of Natashia, Kory, Chase, and Carley. Survived by his sisters Viola Sowerby, and Rhoda Torrie. Brother in law to Ron (Phyllis) Hodgkinson. Harold was uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Keith Kirktown and Catherine Kirktown.
Harold had an amazing career with the Bank of Montreal, as a Manager in many places. He then became a welder, and worked at Jack’s in Norwich, and Walker Exhaust in Cambridge. Harold volunteered for 30 plus years with the Canadian Cancer Society. Harold was a Lions Club Member in Simcoe, Dyers Bay and Norwich. Harold was also a member of the Kinsmen Club of Merlin and Wallaceburg. He loved golfing, shuffling, baseball, building bird houses, dancing, cards, canoeing, and walks. Harold and Donna spent many winters at their Florida home, and summers up at their Cedar Vu Cottage in Dyers Bay. They reside in Hickory Hills in Tillsonburg, where they’ve met some wonderful people. Harold had a gift to meet people everywhere he went, and always had a good sense of humour. His memories will be cherished and kept close to our hearts.
