It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Helen Marie (Dojlido) Benko at the Woodstock Hospital on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the age of 62 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Steve for 45 years. Proud and loving mother of Phil (Janelle Sofalvi) and Amy Yallop ( Mark). Cherished Baba (grandma) of Evan and Addyson Yallop. Dear sister of Bill Dojlido (Julie), Andrew Dojlido and Linda Milmine (Wayne). Helen is also survived by her father-in-law Steve Benko Sr., brothers-in-law Peter Benko, Andy Benko (Sandra) as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Witold and Violet (Shepit) Dojlido and her mother-in-law Delphine (Schockaert) Benko. Helen was a prominent business owner of Horizon Maintenance Inc. She was also a Girl Guide Leader and she had a true love for the outdoors which included scuba diving and travelling the world but Helen’s real passion was spending time with her grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, all guests are required to register for visitation on the funeral home website or by calling the Funeral Home. All guests must wear masks and remain socially distant. Guests are asked not to attend if they are ill or under isolation.
