ISTVAN “STEVE” PIHOKKER
MAY 4, 1945 – JANUARY 9, 2020
Surrounded by the love of his family at VON Sakura House, Woodstock on Thursday, January 9, 2020, Istvan “Steve” Pihokker of R.R. 6 Tillsonburg passed away at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband of the late Theresa (Redling) Pihokker (2001). Proud and loving father of his three daughters; Jennifer Szarca (Janos) of Chatham, Sharon Stucz (Csaba) of Tillsonburg and Krisztina Dean (Gabriel) of Los Angeles, CA. Cherished grandfather of Michelle, Sylvia, Kriszta, Jayden, Gaylinn, Bella and Aubree. Steve is also survived by several nieces, nephews and family in Hungary. Predeceased by his parents Istvan and Erzebet (Hornyak) Pihokker, sister Siliga Ferencena and brother Frank Pihokker. Steve farmed tobacco and asparagus in the Tillsonburg area for many years. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm with Parish Prayers at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tillsonburg on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:00 am with Father Tom Donohue presiding. Interment will follow at St. Ladislaus Cemetery in Courtland. Memorial donations to VON Sakura House would be appreciated by the Pihokker family.
