JAMES BEVERLEY LONG
AUGUST 13, 1930 – MAY 3, 2020
Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, May 3, 2020, James “Bev” Long of Tillsonburg passed away at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Janet (Howe) Long. Proud and loving father of Bryon Long of Bahamas, Glenn Long (Christine) of Carlton Place, Debra Long of Tillsonburg, Perry Long (Bruno) of Mississauga, Donna Flett of B.C. and their mother the Late Donna Long (2011). Cherished grandfather of Tara (Darryl), Jeffrey, Alana, Colin (Megan), Marisa (Troy), Bradley (Gelena), Kadegia, Brittany, Amber, Lebron and 9 great-grandchildren. Bev is also survived by his brother Murray Long of Milton, brother-in-law Derek Muir of Brownsville and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents James and Sarah (Moyer) Long, granddaughter Melissa Long, sisters Norma Welt, Shirley Belore, sister-in-law Marjorie Long, brother-in-law Tom Belore and son-in-law Robert Graham. Bev was extremely proud to have served his country in the Canadian Navy. He was also a meticulous electrician who took pride in his work. . Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell Street Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 11:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, public visitation will be LIMITED to ONLY guests that sign up for a specific time to attend. Time slots will be made available on our website or by calling 519-842-5221. Guests are asked to not attend if they are ill, have been around anyone that is ill or have travelled. Guests are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing rules. Guests are encouraged to only attend when their time slot begins. A Private Memorial Service will be conducted by Rev. Ted Smith of Courtland United Church. Memorial donations to VON – Sakura House or the charity of your choice would be appreciated and may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted by the Long family.
