JAMES “JIM” YOUNGER
JULY 31, 1930 – MARCH 30, 2021
Peacefully, after a brief illness at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, James “Jim” Younger of Mount Elgin and formerly of Wheatley passed away at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Rose Mary for 34 years. Dear father of David Younger (Susan), the Late Stephen Younger, Theresa Younger, Jimmy Younger, Michael Younger (Karen) and step-father of Bill Chute (Deborah). Jim is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a sister Gerty. Predeceased by 2 sisters Pat and Jean. Jim was a proud employee of H.J. Heinz for over 35 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Jim served in the Royal British Air Force and was part of the Honour Guard the day Queen Elizabeth was crowned. He will be missed by all that knew him. In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel and will be live streamed through the link provided by our website. Memorial donations to the Poppy Fund may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
