It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of James “Larry” Dawson, of Aylmer announce his passing at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband and best friend of the Late Harriet (Skevington) Dawson (2017) for 47 years. Proud and loving father of his two sons; Terry (Nicki) and Barry (Elena). Cherished grandfather of Zachary, Connor, Alexandra and Kassandra. Brother of Judy Atkins (Dennis), Murry Dawson (Linda), Douglas Dawson (Olga), Bill Dawson (Susan) and Gary Dawson. Larry is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law Norman (Dawn), Richard (Sharron), Roger (Kim), Ronson, Georgina, many nieces and nephews, and special Aunts: Margaret Dawson, and Agnes Clark. Predeceased by his parents James and Donna (Prouse) Dawson. Larry worked many years as a mall manager at both the Norfolk Mall and The Simcoe Town Centre where he represented the mall as T.C. Bear. In his “retirement” years he worked at the Simcoe Downtown BIA. He was happiest being an avid member of many community organizations including Langton Showtime, the Simcoe Little Theatre, Crime Stoppers, Norfolk County Fair Board, Simcoe Lions and The Old Windham Church Board and Choir. Due to current circumstances, a Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held when restrictions are lifted. Memorial donations to the Old Windham Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the Norfolk County Fair Board may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with Larry’s arrangements.
