Jay worked hard over the years, initially on the family tobacco farm, then, after moving to Tillsonburg, he worked for Jackson’s bakery for many years until they closed, then he worked at Harvey’s Precast, then Pearce’s Automotive, and worked for Van Rybroeck Aluminum, until he retired. He continued to drive vehicles for Pearce’s after he retired. He volunteered with St. John’s and was on the Boy Scout Camp Committee. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and visiting with his family. Playing golf with family and friends was his passion, getting a hole in one, sealed his bragging rights.
Due to the on-going Covid Crisis, there will be a private family graveside service with Rev. Lynne Allin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to any of the following: The Canadian Diabetes Association or VON-Sakura House, Woodstock, and may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6, (519) 842-5221, whom have been entrusted with arrangements.
