Obituary for John Leroy "Jack" Hanley

JOHN LEROY HANLEY
1934 – 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of John “Jack” Hanley announces his passing. Jack, age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday October 10, 2022 at Woodingford Lodge in Tillsonburg. Beloved husband and best friend of Helene Hanley (nee Vandewoude) for 70 years. Much loved father and father in law of Allan Hanley, Deacon Brian and Colleen Hanley, Elaine and Steve Kamenar, and Gerald and Line Hanley. Cherished Papa of Stephen Kamenar, Karen and Ken Brisbois, Jaclyn Kamenar, Sean Hanley, Angela and Trevor Adams, Alex Hanley, Julie and Sam Thorne, Joey and Megan Hanley, Andrew Heuston, and Amanda Lascelle. Great grandfather to 10 adored great grandchildren. Survived by his siblings Carol and Dick White, Gerald (late Marge) Hanley, Tom and Gloria Hanley, Denny and Tracy Hanley, sisters in law Val Hanley and Betty Hanley. Pre-deceased by his parents Gerald and Margaret Hanley, brothers Bill, Leo, Dave and Rodger Hanley, parents in law Marie and Rene Vandergunst, sister in law Gusta Santschi (Joe and Clark). Also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Jack was a dedicated and well respected foreman at Livingston Industries for over 30 years. He was also the host of the local pigeon club for many years during the 1970’s. Jack will be deeply missed by many. His memories will be forever cherished by his family and friends. Donations can be made to the Woodingford Lodge Tillsonburg Recreation Program and/or Ronald McDonald House and can be done by contacting the Funeral Home. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6 (519) 842-5221 on Friday October 14th, 2022, from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and then 6:00 pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg on Saturday October 15th at 10:00 am. Father Seejo John officiating.
