Born in Ecseny, Hungary on August 30, 1933, to his parents Josef Anspach & Katharina Schäffer. He met the love of his life Hedwig in 1958 in Germany and they were married in December of 1958 until her passing in 2012. Loving father to Manfred Anspach, Jaenette Challis (Bill), Robert Anspach and his wife Pam, Georg Anspach, Sue Vitias (Reg) and Richard Anspach. John was reunited with his first child Monika in 2013. Opa to Aimee, DJ, Neil (Cas), Jen (Johnny), Rebecca, Jo Marie (Jake), Bob, Melissa (Jason), Cas (Aaron), Johnny, Melony, Georg, Steve (Jaclyn), Jesse, Jordan and Sonja (Markus). John was great Opa to 25 great grandchildren and great great Opa of 1 great great grandchild. Predeceased by his loving son John Gary (2015) and daughter-in-law Judy (2021) and his parents Josef and Katharina. Farming was John’s life, being born and raised on the farm he enjoyed his entire life working in the fields. He was a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Bayern Munich Football Team.
Family and Friends are invited by the Anspach family to Ostrander’s Funeral Home 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6 (519) 842-5221 on Tuesday July 26, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00p.m. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, Tillsonburg on Wednesday July 27, 2022 starting at 11:00am. Pastor Paul Schallhorn will be officiating. Interment will be at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, Tillsonburg or to the Alzheimer’s Society.
