After a long and courageous battle with COPD, Bob passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11 at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital. Bob was the beloved husband of Sandra (nee Dertinger) for more than 51 years. Cherished father of Michelle (Jim) DeBresser of Toronto and Hillary (Sean) Gallivan of London. Beloved grandfather of Ben & Luke DeBresser, and Leah & Kiera Gallivan. Brother of Jim, Linda, Ken, Danny, and Lloyd. Son-in-law of Sylvia. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister Janice, and his father-in-law Steve. Bob was born in Hamilton, Ontario to Dorothy and Melvin in 1949, lived in Delhi as a youth, and spent his adulthood in Chatham and Tillsonburg. His jobs at Livingston Export and TDS brought him opportunities to travel the world, but he was always happiest when he came back home to his family. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell Street Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, public visitation will be LIMITED to ONLY guests that sign up for a specific time to attend. Time slots will be made available on our website or by calling 519-842-5221. Guests are asked to not attend if they are ill, have been around anyone that is ill or have travelled. Guests are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing rules. Guests are encouraged to only attend when their time slot begins. A Private Mass of Christian Burial conducted by Father John Pirt, will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations to the VON-Sakura House, Woodstock, or St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with Bob’s arrangements.
