Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital with family by her side on Sunday, February 12, 2023, Julia “Judy” (Yurkiw) Sandham passed away in her 99th year. Beloved wife and best friend for 64 years of the Late John “Jack” Sandham (2013). Loving mother of Sandra Catton (Larry) of Belle River and Steven Sandham (Ruth) of Tillsonburg. Proud grandmother of Becky Harvey, Jennifer Murray (Ian), Lauren Paré (Andrew), Leandra Catton-Walker (Rob) and great-grandchildren Arran Murray, Ainsley Murray, Euan Paré, Kailyn Paré and Jack Catton-Walker. Dear sister of Elizabeth Chomyn (Fred) of Winnipeg and sister-in-law of Mildred Westley of Shakespeare. Judy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Stephen and Ksenia (Nowakoski) Yurkiw, and her brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. The Memorial Service for Judy will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Paul Robinson and Pastor Paul Penelton officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Tillsonburg or the Poppy Fund (Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 153 Tillsonburg) would be appreciated by the Sandham family.
