Obituary for Kathleen Helen Krakkai-Munkacsi (Perhacs)
KATHLEEN HELEN KRAKKAI-MUNKACSI
APRIL 4, 1936 – MARCH 5, 2021
It is with profound sadness, on Friday, March 5, 2021, peacefully at her home with her family by her side, Kathleen Helen Krakkai-Munkacsi of Tillsonburg, Ontario passed away at the age of 84 years. Kathleen was born in Hungary. At the age of 2 she came to South Western Ontario with her mother and older sister to join her father. They settled on a farm in Silverhill. Joe and Kathleen met and married in 1954. They lived and worked on a tobacco farm while raising their daughters. After Joseph passed, Kathleen married Steve and they spent many happy years travelling and spending time with their family. She was often described as a sweet, caring woman by many. We know if we hear someone humming, it will be mom. Beloved wife and best friend to Steve Munkacsi. Caring mother to Anita Gilvesy of London, Sandra Gilvesy and her husband John of Tillsonburg and stepmother to Richard Munkacsi and his wife Cathy of Welland. Loving grandmother to Grant Gilvesy, Adrienne (Erin) Gilvesy, Sasha (Ryan) McGrath, David (Jill) Gilvesy and great grandmother to Nyla, Bennett, Oliver and Aiden. Kathleen is predeceased by her first husband Joseph Krakkai (1985), her siblings Mary Vecsi, and Steve Perhacs and her stepson Tom Munkacsi. A Private Funeral Service will be held in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel with the interment to follow at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the Krakkai-Munkacsi family.
