Obituary for Laurie Drew (Miller)
Laurie Drew
1947 – 2023
Laurie passed away peacefully and suddenly at home on September 16, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jed (James Edward), her son Ian and his wife Ginger, her daughter Megan and her husband Walter Golden and granddaughter Anna Golden. Predeceased by her parents, Cliff and Maud Miller, and her brothers Lloyd and Gary. Laurie leaves behind many dear in-laws, nieces and nephews and their families.
Prior to moving to Tillsonburg, Ontario in 2003, Laurie had moved extensively throughout Canada, having lived in multiple towns and cities in five provinces. She loved to travel and planning for her future trips. While travelling, she had experienced many different cultures in Europe, South America, Oceana and throughout North America.
Once moving to Tillsonburg, Laurie became a beloved member of St. Paul’s United Church. One of her most cherished achievements was to establish and co-ordinate the Community Kitchen at St. Paul’s. She felt a need to feed and support all of God’s children.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 23, 2023 for a visitation at St. Paul’s United Church, 88 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. The Memorial Service for Laurie will take place at 11:00 am immediately following her visitation. A reception will be held following the service.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Paul’s United Church in lieu of flowers and can be done directly or by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home (519) 842-5211.
