Lorraine Devos (nee Goethals)

It is with sorrow the Devos family wish to announce that Lorraine past peacefully in Woodstock, Ontario on December 23, 2021. Beloved Wife and partner of Rafael Devos. Mother of Joanne (John) Jansen, Kris (Liz) Devos and Bryan (Virginia) Devos.

Loving Grandmother of Joshua, Daniel, Austin, Alex, Dalton, Kassie, and Tanner.

Sister of Judy Boland and Jean Fraser. Sister-in-Law to Francine Devos, Maria (Hector) Deforche Devos, Monique (Etienne) Withouck Devos.

Lorraine was born in Tillsonburg on July 28, 1941 and she grew up in Walsh, Ontario. She met a handsome young man from Belgium who spoke Flemish like her. They were happily married for 55 years.
Lorraine and Rafael tirelessly worked their tobacco farm in Princeton Ontario for 38 years while raising their 3 children enjoying farming as a family.
Lorraine had a passion for baking for friends, family and even ventured into selling her baked goods from their garage. She baked wonderful Frangipane and Belgium waffle cookies among numerous cakes, and pies for all. She loved to laugh and always had a good joke to bring a smile to all around her. Lorraine and Rafael retired to Mount Elgin, Ontario. Lorraine was the much-loved matriarch of her family, and she will be fondly remembered by all.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario, and may be done by contacting Ostrander's Funeral Home (519) 842-5221 who have been instructed with the arrangements. Visitation will take place at Ostrander's Funeral Home on Wednesday December 29th, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Guests are required to RSVP for a visitation time spot and offer personal condolences online on Lorraine’s tribute page or by calling the funeral home at 519-842-5221. www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com. A private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church for immediate family only.
