Peacefully, at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Courtland on Saturday, January 4, 2020, Maria Joanetta (Messine) Vanhaelewyn passed away at the age of 93 years. Beloved wife of the late Eugeen Vanhaelewyn (2012). Proud and loving mother of Anita Vallaeys (Freddy) and Geno Vanhaelewyn (Sherri) both of Tillsonburg. Cherished grandmother of Brian Vallaeys (Cindy) of Straffordville, Shawn Vallaeys (Jessica) of Tillsonburg, Brooklynn Vanhaelewyn, Ajay Vanhaelewyn both of Tillsonburg and great-grandchildren Mason and Avah Vallaeys. Predeceased by her parents Camiel and Martha (Gryspeerdt) Messine and her sister Jeanne Messine. In keeping with Maria’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
