Obituary for Marilyn Ellen Chamberlain

Marilyn Ellen Chamberlain
April 26, 1939 – November 27, 2021

On a quiet afternoon, Saturday November 27, 2021, Marilyn Chamberlain passed on to go be with her family on the other side.
Beloved wife for 59 years of William Chamberlain of Tillsonburg. Loving Mother to Linda McCoy (Chris McCoy) of Tobermory, Marianne Spanics (Bryan Spanics) of Cultus, Grandmother to Mitchell McCoy of Tobermory and Brianna Spanics of Cultus. Great Grandmother to Revan McCoy of Sarnia. Sister of Jean Cooper (Verne Johnson) of London. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mom to her fur baby “Punkin”.
Predeceased by her parents James O. Martin and Mary Martin, her older brother Robert James Martin, and her grandson Bryan Houston Richard Spanics.
Marilyn experienced many adventures in her life and enjoyed them all. Her first career was as an Elementary School Teacher in London On., and a Primary School Specialist in Toronto. As a young bride she moved to Mitchell Brothers Farm in Cultus On. Here she and Bill raised their daughters Linda and Marianne. During this time Marilyn obtained her HAM radio licence, taught piano lessons to the local children, mastered amazing calligraphy skills, and shared her love of artistry with her girls. Marilyn also drove school bus for many years in Norfolk County, and worked in the ginseng fields. Later after a move to Tillsonburg, Marilyn joined the O.P.P. at the Tillsonburg detachment where she worked as a security officer and cell guard. She also was well known by many school children when she was a crossing guard for the Town of Tillsonburg.
Marilyn had a passion for reading and when she had quiet time could always be found tucked away with a book in her hand. She adored traveling with her family and her beloved sister Jean Cooper. Marilyn even rode a Harley Davidson and enjoyed road trips with Bill.
Always quiet and unassuming, her gentle kind soul will be forever remembered by all who her were close to her. Rest in peace our love, we look forward to your loving arms when it’s our turn to join you.
Special thanks to TDMH Second Floor South Nursing staff for your compassion and kindness towards our mother during her final hours.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place at a later date.
