Obituary for Marjory Mildred Brown

MARJORY MILDRED BROWN (MARTIN)
December 6, 1920 – July 9, 2022

It is with cherished memories and everlasting appreciation that we reflect on the full and giving life of Marjory Brown who passed away peacefully at the age of 101 and half years. Her unwavering faith, values, commitment to others, and inner strength bettered the lives of all she met.
Survived by nieces and nephews: Ann & Jake Lofthouse, Linda and Jeff Hanson, Bob and Karen Martin, John Martin, Rodger and Joan Martin, Jim and Berv Martin and Brian and Susan Price.
Always grateful, always “Oh, thank you”, she always said for the smallest kindness.
She frequently remarked that she was losing her marbles, which of course, she totally wasn’t and was still quick to smile in her last days. She loved good food and the good people who brought it to her. She loved to be outdoors and any excuse to go for a drive (ice cream).
She lived a life of service and wholeheartedly enjoyed spending time witnessing the stories of people’s lives.
Marj had a village to keep her in her home. A lifetime of gratitude would not be enough to thank her special devoted friends: Jeannie, Sharon, Bonnie, Virginia, Alfred and Kathy, grand niece Liz Androusick and her loved children Jaimee and Jordyn who brought hours of joy living next door.
She had the greatest of love and gratitude for Jeannette Smith who cared for her and whom Marj loved dearly. Aunt Marj was always very grateful for Ann and Jake’s love and support in her life.
She was very fortunate to have the supports from the community with Dr. Lamb, the care partners, the amazing PSW workers, the devoted staff on 2 North at TDMH during her short stay and importantly, the support of her congregation at Cranberry Park.
Predeceased by husband Allan Lyle Brown (1989) and adopted son John Brown (1981). Siblings: John (Irene) Martin, Jean (Bob) Price, William “Bill” (Marie “Mary”) Martin, George Martin. Parents: Nellie (Hammond) and Robert “Bob” Martin.
As per her wishes, there will not be a service. Do something kind for someone, spend some time outdoors and think about her in her garden. She would like that. There will be a drop in reception at her house on Saturday July 16th, 2022 from 2-4pm.
