Peacefully, with family by her side at Woodingford Lodge Nursing Home in Tillsonburg on Friday, August 26, 2022, Mary Helen (Mitru) Takacs passed away at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of the Late Frank Takacs (1983) and the Late Andy Bilanics (1999). Proud and loving mother of Irene Gilvesy of Tillsonburg. Cherished grandmother of Lisa Gilvesy (Frank Van De Slyke) and Andrew Gilvesy (Cynthia) both of Tillsonburg. Special great – grandmother of Alec, Grace and Craig. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Rose (Majoros) Mitru, her sister, Ethel and brothers, Joe, Steve, Michael and Michael as well as her son-in-law, Andy Gilvesy. Friends and relatives will be received for visitation at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 51 Venison Street West, Tillsonburg on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 am with Father Seejo John officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Ladislaus Cemetery in Courtland. Memorial donations to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital or Woodingford Lodge, Tillsonburg would be appreciated by the family.
