It is with heavy hearts the family wishes to announce the passing of Maurice (Moe) DeBruyne, in his 74th year, on Friday March 4 2022 at the T.D.M.H. Maurice was a caring, loving man who always had a smile on his face and was willing to lend a hand to anyone. He was the Vice President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #153 Tillsonburg, where he spent much of his time volunteering and playing darts and cards.
Maurice was employed by TSC as store manager at both the Simcoe and Tillsonburg locations for over 25 years. When the nice weather arrived, Moe could be found up at his brother Lou's cottage on Manitoulin Island.
Moe was blessed with a large family who loved him dearly. Married on October 23, 1993 to his best friend, Kathy, they spent 28 years together in the Tillsonburg area surrounded by family and friends. Maurice was loved by many, especially his children David (Kim) De Bruyne, Robert DeBruyne, Marianne (Steve) Wesseling and Lindsay Byerlay. He treasured his grand-children Danielle (Tyler) Thompson-Love, Julia (Kyle) Hodgins, Jaszandra De Bruyne (Paris), Aiden, Jared and Hadley Wesseling. He will also be deeply missed by his great grand-children Alyssa, Maxwell, Emily, Nevan, Sky-Lee, Brielle , Damian, Serena and Carter as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and his favourite Aunt Dorothy Vanderhaeghe. Survived by his brothers Lou (Cathy) DeBruyne, Rick (Dorothy) DeBruyne, Darlene (Jeff) Miller and Cindy (Gump) Hildebrant. Maurice was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Lawrence DeBruyne.
