After a lengthy battle with illness, the family wishes to announce the passing of Michel Richard Coombes, “Mike”, of Tillsonburg, formerly of Guelph and Toronto, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Friday, February 21, 2020, at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Susan (nee Darrell). Proud and loving father of Tim, Andrew (Emily), and Peter Coombes. Predeceased by his parents Richard (1980) and Ginette (1975), and brother Pip (1982), all of England. Mike was a very active father as a Cub Leader, Scout Leader, and Soccer Coach. He and Susan were avid sailors and members of the OMDA Sailing Group. Both Mike and Susan loved badminton, and were introduced because of the sport. Mike and Susan were proud members of St. John’s Anglican Church, Tillsonburg. Friends and relatives will be received by Mike’s family for a visitation and memorial service to be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 46 Ridout Street West, Tillsonburg on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 9:30 – 11:00 am. The Memorial Service for Mike will be held at 11:00 am following the visitation. Interment will be held at a later date.
