Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital with family by his side on Sunday, February 5, 2023, Norman “Norm” Gerald Kindy of Tillsonburg passed away at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Deanna (Durling) Kindy for 62 years. Loving father of T. Lee Kindy (Angela) of Welland and Kelly Underwood (Stephen) of Tillsonburg. Proud grandfather of Robert, Michael, Emily, Bradley, Zachary (Wendy), Max and great-grandchildren Zoey and Zander. Norm is also survived by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Pearl (Walton) Kindy and his brother Donald Kindy (Helen). Norm and Deanna were the proud proprietors of Norm and Deanna’s Coffee Shop in Ingersoll as well as The Pool Hall in Port Burwell for many years. He was also the Custodian at Rolph Street Public School in Tillsonburg for over 20 years. Norm was an avid camper and he and his family spent many summers camping in Niagara Falls. Norm will be sadly missed by all that knew him. In keeping with Norm’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. The Memorial Service for Norm will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11:00 am with Chaplain Tina Dias officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the Kindy family.
